While it's unlikely that pharmaceutical firms will suddenly start offering free Adderall to all their employees, at least this will keep problem from escalating further. You may be wondering why the government doesn't just mandate this, but I'm sure with enough pressure, it could be done.
The fact that this price can't be decreased further by any means is the real problem with it.
There's not much profit to be made in pill sales, as a single can last at most 2 months. There are a few companies who have come out with prescription stimulants which are "over-the-counter." These pills have a 30-day shelf life though.
