Getting Started!

So you've made the decision to learn how to play golf. Great! Now before you go out and spend lots of money on that new golf hardware, there are some things you should know first. You're not prepared to do this! You should start by talking to a P.G.A. Professional, explaining what you would like to achieve by learning the game of golf. Some people play for fun and others like to play tournament golf. Whatever your goals are, start by taking some lessons from a P.G.A. Pro and learn the fundamentals so you'll have a good understanding of the golf swing. The pro will also introduce you to the various clubs and make some recommendations on what to purchase. Nothing is worse than buying clubs that don't fit you. As a teacher, I see people all the time struggling with clubs that aren't right for them. When you learn the correct way, with correct fitting equipment, you'll have less problems and more fun playing golf for the rest of your life!
